Alexander Remis

Born in Syracuse NY in 1966, Alex spent most of his younger years indoors, bed ridden by chronic myelogenous leukemia. The condition went into remission and Alex vowed he would experience all the world had to offer. In 1980, at the age of 14, Alex began taking Jeet Kune Do were he began a lasting interest in mixed martial arts.

In 1984 Alex was accepted into Brown University. After graduating in 1990 he began touring in the European fighting circuit. He won the European Fighting League MMA Championship in 1992.

Shortly after winning the EFL MMA Championship Alex meet Tomoko Kasumi, the founder of the Japanese Wrestling Association were he worked as a General Manager until the promotion folded following the death of Mr. Kasumi in an auto accident.

Returning to the US in 2004, Alex left the world of wrestling and MMA and married long time girlfriend Jennifer O’Conner. Then in May of 2006, long time friend, Scott Forman approached Alex with the chance to sit on the board of directors for a new promotion; the VCW.

Unfortunately Forman passed away in December of 2006 and the VCW investors pulled out. This left Alex in financial ruin. He had only 2 choices, drop the VCW project or put everything he had into it. Now we wait to see how his decision will turn out. Alex has everything riding on the success or failure of the VCW but he is confident that this was the right decision and he says his family is in full support.
