Carrick Fergus was born in Kilkenny, Ireland to Donnell and MacKenzie Fergus. He was never a boy for studying books or going to class. He was usually the class bully, even though he was one of the shortest kids in school. He fought with the ferocity of a wolverine and would often scare off most of his taller classmates. So much that he was removed from classes in 1993 at the age of ten. His parents, unsure of how to teach their young scrapper, signed him up for boxing and wrestling classes in order to expend some of his relentless energy. Problem was, he excelled at it. He so loved fighting that he would start brawls both in and out of his classes, to the great disturbance of his teachers and parents.

He would go on to lead a very dangerous life up until the age of sixteen, participating in knife fights, bar brawls and illegal pit fights. In 2001, Carrick moved from Ireland into the United States, looking for new forms of competition. He wrestled in a few minor independent leagues, but nothing really sparked his interest.

In 2007, six years after immigrating to the U.S., Carrick was recruited by Marcus O'Conner and Rhona O'Conner, the recently assigned General Managers of VCW's Monday Night Showdown and Thursday Night Brawl, respectively.
