Cody Black had a rough hand dealt to him early in life. His family was dysfunctional, and poor. Cody grew up in some of the worst neighborhoods that California has to offer. Places that are made even more dangerous if you prefer Rock music over Gangster Rap. This life would make some people into monsters like the ones that surrounded them. Cody instead took away from it a strong compulsion to protect the underdog, while giving the bully a bloody nose. Cody got into a lot of fights in pursuit of this ideal, constantly getting in trouble in school.
Things started to change when his High School gym teacher asked him to try out for the wrestling team to put some of that rough nature to a positive end. Cody was reluctant at first, but found that he took to wrestling naturally. His natural talent took him all the way to State finals where he once again ran into trouble.
The coach of the opposing team had the judges disqualify Cody on the grounds that his long hair was a violation of the district's dress code. Enraged by this upset Cody turned away from wrestling and put his heart into his music.
When he was old enough he dropped out of school and moved to Los Angeles to chase his dream of becoming a Rock star. Sadly the Rock music industry proved to have it’s own problems in the form of commercialism. The life of a struggling musician also brought on other issues. Like money. It was at this point in Cody's life that he was introduced to the cage fights hosted by illegal organizations.
Cody put his wrestling and street fighting knowledge together into a vicious combination that won him the underground title and a great deal of respect on the streets of Los Angeles. But still no record deal.
After an epic match up where Cody faced New York's champion and won, he was approached by Alex Remis and asked if he wanted to take a different route to show business. And the rest is history.

Ring Entrance
The arena goes dark as the theme music starts. The crowd reacts knowing who is coming to the arena. When the the song gets to the lyric"LOOKOUT!" the lights come back on with an explosive rock concert style pyrotechnic display. As the lyrics continue, Cody makes his way to the arena."Well I'm a west coast struttin, one bad motha got a rattlesnake suitcase under my arms and I'm a mean machine drinkin gasoline and honey you can make my motor hum..." jamming away on the speakers of the arena. Cody gives guitar picks to the kids as he gets to the ring. Once getting there he takes his guitar from his back and plays a brief solo for the crowd. Upon finishing he hangs his guitar in his corner, sheds his black leather trench coat and asks the crowd"ARE YOU READY TO ROCK?". If he is not satisfied with the volume of the reaction he hears, he will put his hand to his ear and repeat it until the entire arena is in a frenzy. After all this mayhem he gets ready to face his opponent.
