NLLWA - National Lucha-Libra Wresting Alliance In early 2008 the VCW purchased the MWCWF for 7.3 Million USD in the hopes of having a larger talent pool from which to draw new talent. The creation of the VCW/GWA Championship was the result of the GWA commission stating that no GWA titles would be allowed on the VCW promotions. The GWA feared that if its titles were used on the VCW it could result in a loss of regional revenue. The VCW uses its connection with the GWA to supply its Saturday Night Thunder house shows in Detroit with fresh talent. This has cause problems among the VCW’s contracted undercard talent. Much of the VCW’s undercard talent now feels that the they are not being given enough ring time as a result of the rotating GWA members being used for the VCW’s SNT televised matches. In recent months the VCW has been running a story line that the GWA is attempting to take control of the VCW and roll it into its global promotion as the replacement for the failing MWCWF. This story line is expected to take off the closer to the holiday season as an attempt to raise the VCW’s winter ratings.
